The Dee was finally back to a decent level, 701 at Manley gauge a decent level for the Grayling. We headed above Corwen in search of our quarry, the day as always started early to gain as much fishing time as possible in the short winter days. A heavy frost had hit and we needed the layers on today....check thermals, vest, hat, windstopper & Jacket.
Wrapped up warm we're ready for anything, a beat of the C.A.D.A.C water in search of the Grayling. The day started with little to show for our efforts, only several 14" fish all taking the pink bug on the top dropper. My fishing buddy also landing a couple of smaller Grayling taken on a Partridge & Orange.
Each run checked out for fish hopefully stationed up waiting for a free offering to pass them buy, Unfortunately it was hard going, until my determination paid dividends, a decent fish taking the gold head on the point. What a day we had had on our return to the Dee, the temperature all day didn't get above freezing, boy it was a cold one but wrapped up warm.....no problem.
A fantastic day on the Dee, a welcome return after such a long time off due to the river level. Over half a dozen or so Grayling being caught with the best of the day pictured.
Until next time...........Tight Lines
